Health and Safety for Managers E-Learning Course

The aim – The aim of the course is to provide managers with the knowledge and information required to manage the risks to workers’ health and safety. 

Who is the course for – All line and project managers who have some responsibility for managing the health and safety of others in the workplace.

On completion of the course delegates should be able to: 

  • Outline the legal responsibilities for employers and employees in workplaces
  • Outline the reasons for managing the Health and Safety of people at work
  • Describe common hazards found in the workplace
  • Describe a basic risk assessment process
  • Outline the main responsibilities of line and project managers

Duration: 20 – 30 minutes

Content – The course covers the following:

  1. Reasons for managing health and safety
  2. Basic definitions and terminology
  3. Hazard spotting – identifying common workplace hazards
  4. Incident reporting
  5. Legal duties of employers and employees
  6. Health and safety policies
  7. Role and responsibilities
  8. Workplace requirements and safety signs
  9. Common hazards in the workplace
  10. Risk assessment process
  11. Risks to vulnerable groups of people
  12. Line and project manager responsibilities

Assessment: Completion of the training programme will unlock a ten question multiple-choice test which when taken and passed will allow you to print off a certificate as proof of completion.
